Imagining where your home will be built by the developer does not have to be as difficult as it appears when choosing a square on a development map.

Select the higher grounds away from the bottom of the hill to avoid flooding possibilities. Take the time to walk through the pre-development lots to get a physical feel of the area.

Is your lot facing roads with heavy traffic? Or near stores or schools? Be ready to expect high levels of noise if it is. What will the finished development and community look like? Are there additional information from local zoning and planning departments?

Does the lot have a superior view unobstructed by trees or structures?

Lakefront location? Or at the gated community entrance? Pay a premium or negotiate for a better price if the lot location is not the more desirable.

Is your neighbor’s home within arms reach? Will you be able to deal with hearing your neighbor’s dinner conversations? Understand your lot size and where your house will be in relation to your neighbor’s home.
